I am researching my GGGGF Frederick Miller, born in Pennsylvania in 1760.I recently found a promising baptismal record among the records of Rev. Daniel Shumacher, a Lutheran minister, who baptized an infant boy named Johann Friderich Müller, son of Johannes Müller and Anna, on 6 Jan. 1761, in Salisbury Township, Northumberland, now Lehigh, County.Among the baptismal sponsors were Christian Kaub and his wife Barbara.Assuming that they might be relatives, I searched for Christian Kaub on Ancestry and found several public family trees that included Christian and wife, Anna Barbara Müller, suggesting that she might be the baby's paternal aunt. Some of the trees included information on her ancestry, giving her father as Johann Friederich Müller, born in 1696 in Dörrenbach, probably in today's German state of Rheinland-Pfalz.(There are other places named Dörrenbach in Germany, but the village in R-P about 30 miles NW of Karlsruhe seems most likely).
This Johann Friederich Müller may be the infant's grandfather and, thus, an ancestor of mine too.I attempted to learn the specific source of the information by contacting tree "owners" but was unsuccessful.Because Christian Kaub is mentioned in other records (e.g., the Kaup surname forum), I am hoping that someone researching the Miller/Müller and Kaub/Kaupp families and their connections may be able to help me with the source information and/or additional information on Christian and (Anna) Barbara Kaub or her Müller ancestors that would help support (or refute) my hypothesis that the infant baptized was "my" Frederick Miller.Any assistance will be much appreciated, and please feel free to contact me off line.Thank you.
