Just today, I visited Chattahooche Baptist Church Cemetery, where I found the grave of my husband's gggrandmother, Synthia House Mullino and also her sister, Druscilla House McMillan. It seems the House family resided in Habersham and White County, Ga, moving for a time to York County, SC.Synthia House was born in York County, SC marrying Martin Mullinax(o) and remaining through the 1850 census. She is listed in White County, Ga in 1860 and died in White County in ?1893.
In Otto Mullinax's book (1982), ten children of Martin and Synthia are listed, including our ggrandmother, Rachel Elizabeth (Lizzie, b 1832-3, who married John Thomas Morris, moving to Mississippi and, in 1883 to Hamilton County, TX) and also an eight year old, Margaret L., who must be your Maggie.
I know also that their brother Felix,b 1837, moved to Texas.
Would love to learn more of this family and of their migration West.
Thanks,
