Marious Murch
Following a prolonged illness, Marious Murch died at the home of his son, Harry Murch, in this village last Sunday, aged 83 years.Mr. Murch was, until recent years, a resident of this town and a successful farmer, owning a large tract of land which he disposed of to Henry Ackert, who now occupies it.He left here to take a position with a contracting firm and continued in that occupation until ill health made it necessary for him to retire.He was a son of the late Daniel and Maria (Dedrick) Murch.
Surviving him are his sister, Mrs. D. H. Guilfoil, four daughters, Mrs. George F. Shaffer. Mrs. George L. White, and Mrs. Augustus M. Quick of Poughkeepsie, and Mrs. Joseph A. Pitcairn, of Staatsburg, and one son, Harry Murch of this village.Twelve grandchildren also survive him.
Funeral services were held from the home of his son Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Frank Blanchard, pastor of the Reformed Church, officiating.Interment was in the family plot in the Rhinebeck cemetery.
