I am descended through HELENA MURFF SMITH, wife of ALFRED MONROE SMITH.HELENA was the sister of WALDEMAR MURFF.

HELENA's daughter married WALDEMAR's son.He is featured in the article as "the watermelon man of July 1875" in Vernon, AL, based upon an old newspaper notice.
