Great article!Thanks for posting the link here.J.R. Murff, called Randal, is my gr-gr-grandpa.I had not heard of Temperance Hill before.I found some records in Aberdeen that showed where the family property was, but haven't been out there yet.Would love to find where the home stood.Helena and Alfred were pretty much on the same road.

The grave marker you have a picture of for Waldemar is somewhat "new", since the original was broken a few years ago.The government sent it for free.

Paul Murff wrote "The Murff Book" in the 1950's and a number of descendants have added to it and updated it, and it's now on a CD if you are interested.There are a few Thorntons listed in it.
