Seeking information regarding MICHAEL L. MURRAY, Spanish- American War (Philippines); veteran, sharpshooter.Enlisted 1898 in Company C, 1st Idaho Volunteers.
Murray, born in Ireland (c. 1859), migrated to the US (c. 1877).Held mining claims with various partners in Florence and Newsome, Idaho prior to Philippines action.
After the war, Murray married Nellie C. (Robinson) McEntee (widow of Murray's mining partner Patrick McEntee) at Grangeville, Idaho on 16 June 1901.
Subsequently, Murray divorced Nellie sometime after the death of their 5 month old daughter in November 1903 (no cause of death given).Murray then went to Puerto Rico apparently as an official of US Government.
A Michael L. Murray (enumerated as "Miguel", born in Ireland, and divorced) was boarding at Pueblo, Pattilas, Puerto Rico in 1910.
Apparently, Murray died in Puerto Rico February 1915.He is buried at Puerto Rico National Cemetery, Bayamon. His internment date however is given as 1960--meaning his remains likely were repatriated to the National Cemetery.
I am attempting to complete the records on this veteran.Any assistance would be welcome.
