James Murray, arrived 1840 from Ireland, was living and working in Camden & Burlington Counties. He met Mary Jane Lyons of an old New Jersey family and married her around 1845.In Camden, he had a daughter on 3 January in 1846.On 6 January of 1849, a son Joseph was born to him in Newark, Essex, New Jersey. The Lyons family, his in-laws, also had a large family and both the Murrays and the Lyons moved around a good deal in NJ, probably following available work.Shortly, the Lyons left the state to migrate to Indiana. In 1850, the Murrays followed. Joseph did not survive the journey. Both families settled in Union, Hendricks, Indiana. James Murray is enumerated in the Fed. Cen. of 1860, 1870 and 1880 there, along with his wife and more children.I have been unable to find a date or place of James' death. His wife died in March of 1910 in Hendricks but James was much older, born in 1808.
