Eliza Ann (Murrill / Murrell) Patt Obituary Bonne Terre Missouri
ELIZA ANN PATT (nee MURRELL)
Eliza Ann, daughter of Briggs Murrell and Martha Anderson Murrell was born near Blackwell, Mo., April 27, 1832.
She was married to Christian Patt Nov. 8, 1850. Nine children were born unto them, eight of whom lived to rear families.
Mrs. Martha Janis died several years ago, leaving the following brothers and sisers who survive their mother: Mrs. Murphy of St. Louis; Mrs. Emily Ward, of Bonne Terre; Mrs. Rosa Doe and William Patt of Hazel Run; Henry Patt of Flat River; Mrs. Christia Massengale of Haskell, Okla.; and Christian Patt of Desloge.
She also leaves 46 grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
"Grandma" Patt as she was familiarly called was a woman who thought her first duty was to her children, hence her life was given to making the home a pleasant place, and of course in this she did not fail.
For several years she has been living with her son-in-law, Charles Ward of this city.
Several weeks ago she was taken with La Grippe, from which she seemed to be recovering when pneumonia supervened, terminating fatally Monday evening, March 10, at about 8 o'clock.
She was a member of the M. E. Church South, and greatly enjoyed her Christian experiences. Hers was a bright sunny life and she will be greatly missed by her friends. Nelson B. Henry. Mrs. Patt was of that good old fashioned type of true womanhood and motherhood, a home builder, one who rejoiced in doing for others and in this she was beloved by all who were so fortunate as to come in contact with her.
Her life was well and profitably spent, she lived to see its fruition in dutiful sons and daughers all of whom have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
