Re: James Myers/Susanna Benton 1800's?

Dear Ruth, You are my cousin.James Joesph Myers and Suzanne Myers Benton were my grandparents.My father was Vernon Elbert Myers and he was born on September 30,1910 in Gates County,North Carolina.I remember Uncle Jerome. I son't know alot about the Myers family either.I was told by my father that his father James died when he was a boy.
Suzanne Benton Myers died when I was eight months old. I know Suzanne gave birth to about 12 children. A couple died a birth. My father was the oldest. He quit school in the ninth grade to go to work to help raise the younger children. The children that I know of was my Dad, Vernon Elbert Myers, Ruth MAe Myers, Jeromy Myers and they had a sister name Bertha I think They called her Sis. I can find out more from my brothers and tell you later. I know that my brothers and I went to Gates County to the court house and we found out that most records were burn in a fire. I remember when your Dad died because that was the first time I saw my Dad cry because He couldn't afford to go the funeral.E-mail me back and see what else I can find out. Cathy Jarman Myers
