Kathy,I am so happy to see you here - alive and still searching!!! This is cousin Jane in California and I'm still trying to sort out the father of Thomas Franklin Napier. So far, after 35 years of looking no luck. Re the Stephen who was arrested for killing Stonebanks - just last week talked with the clerk at Goochland. Seems we most probably won't find out what happened to his case because it was sent to general court in Williamsburg and those records were burned during the Civil War. Never have solved mystery of the orphan Thomas who was bound out at the same time of the case against Stephen and that he could have been executed for his crime and that this was his son.
