Karen - there could be a connection. I know that Thomas Neenan's wife Sally Bridget Phillips was from Co. Clare and that she and Thomas were both working together in a house in the parish of Kilmurray McMahon, Co. Clare before they emigrated, but I can't guarantee that Thomas Neenan was a local. He could have been from one of the other Irish counties and moved for work. Maybe your situation was similar, given it was the time of the potato famine?
Thomas' children were also called names similar to yours - Nora (Honora), Michael, Thomas etc. Unfortunately my male Neenan line didn't last long. One son died early, one was a priest. One (Michael) moved with his father to work on the railways down to Florida, and spent the rest of his life there. His wife was born in Florida, but her parents came from Georgia. I don't know about any children. Did your Neenans come to work on the railways too?
