My wife bought a pair of swords at Fort Plain, New York in the late 1960's. The seller was demolishing a building in Fort Plain (Mohawk Valley). These swords appear to be cermonial, or presentation swords, but may be real arms. One has engraved on one side of the blade the name "J.F. Nestell" The other, which is nearly identical, says "Fort Plain Co. No. 22"There is also an engraved shield, with the initials KP (Knights of Ptyhias???)Do you have any information which might help us in identifying these items which are in very good condition.
