Susan, I am related to the Andress family. Here is what I have on Malachi Nettles b 1813 S C.Son of Joseph Nettles, Sr. of Alabama. He moved to Texas bef. 1846 when the Republic of Texas became a part of the United States. He married in Monroe Co, Alabama Harriet Andress, she was the sister of my ggg grandmother Nancy Andress Haynes(married Harvey Foster Haynes and moved to Texas). Malachi was a Justice of the Peace, for 3 terms, during Livingston, Texas 1st. 5 Years.He was the 1st county Treasurer. Malachi Nettles bought property at the northwest corner of the town square. he died in 1868, and named his wife Harriet as administrator. Their children were: 1. W.
