Portrait of Mary Nevett of Dorchester Co., Maryland, ca. 1785
The Summer/Autumn 2010 issue of Antiques and Fine Art magazine on p. 100 in an advertisement pictures a lovely portrait of Mary Nevett of Dorchester County, Maryland, painted ca. 1785, just a few years before she married James Steele in 1789. The couple thereafter resided in Annapolis, MD.
I am scanning this portrait in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the Nevett or Steele families ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the families. It may not have a lot of genealogical value, but it certainly does have a lot of family and artistic value.

If it were a portrait of a lovely Pease lady of the time, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.
