I am familiar with this branch of the Newsham family. They descend from the Newshams of Brockholes, Preston, and prior to that, Whittingham, just north of Preston. They were staunch Roman Catholic, with many RC priests in the family in the 1800s, including Dr Charles Newsham of Ushaw.
