Sources for immigrant Pierre?
Wow, I get to be the first to post.*grin*
I haven't been able to hunt down a copy of "Nezat and Allied Families" by Jack Nezat yet.(Anyone have a copy for sale?)I was wondering if anyone can point to sources for the following:
Pierre Nezat's first marriage to Catherine Bourry on 13 August 1759.Where was this?(I saw this marriage in the DAR Patriot Index.I am allergic to the DAR and keep putting getting a copy of this app at the bottom of my list.)
Pierre's parents as:
Pierre Nezat b. 1 June 1708 in Leyrac, France d. 2 August 1782 same, married to Francoise Dupuy 24 November 1729.(in Leyrac?)
Grandparents as Antoine Nezat of Leyrac and Gabrielle Bordes, m. 6 February 1689/90. (in Leyrac?)
G-GP as Pierre Nezat of Leyrac and Anne Orbesies.
Can anyone flesh out the above with brothers, sisters, places...?
Also, according to "Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots" (Vol 3), Pierre is buried at Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Martinville, Louisiana.Has anyone visited and taken a photo? Is the marker still there?
There, I think I got this forum off to a fine start with *lots* of questions to keep P. Nezat researchers busy!(haha)It has been awhile since I dusted off my Nezat digging, but hopefully I'll be able to provide some answers in the future.
Hoping to see other Nezat descendants here,
(P.S. My line is Pierre the Immigrant, Antoine, Elenor/Helene)
