I don't understand where the name NICKLAW comes from..Some members of the family when born go by Jacques or Nicklaw, then when they die they are known by the other.
FRANCOIS XAVIER JACQUES married -02 Oct. 1832 St. Hyacinthe Quebec CANADA SCHOLASTIQUE DESLANDES She died in Greenfield, MA 01301 25 Feb. 1892...I don't know if her body was sent back to Brandon,VT to be buried with Francois. She lived with William (her son) in Brandon,VT during the 1880 cenus. She must have moved to Greenfield , MA with some of her children. William is buried in the Calvary Cem. in Greenfield,MA Louis (Son of Jean-Baptiste) is buried in the Calvary Cem. under the last name of JACQUES but 1 of his sons are buried under NICKLAW Phillip (Son of Jean-Baptiste) died in Greenfield, MA Dec.3,1917 is body was buried in Brandon VT..1 of Phillips sons is buried in Calvary Cem. under NICKLAW. Clara JACQUES buried in the Calvary Cem. with her 2nd husband Antwine Brassor. She is buried not far from my Great great Grandmother Elizabeth (JACQUES) Tetreault. If you have any knowledge of where the last name NICKLAW came from I would appreciate the help..I will gladly give you any family information that I have or find.
