Thanks for the post on Mrs Harriet Nicodemus.Using the index in Ivan Nicodemus' book "Nicodemus Notes in America", I was able to determine that Harriet was Harriet O'Connell (sometimes misidentified as Conley) who married John Nicodemus ca 1826 probably in Franklin Co, PA.Ivan also indicates that:
-This John Nicodemus was born 1804 in Greenscastle Village, Franklin Co, PA and died 1862 in Montgomery Co, IL.
-She is listed as taking communion at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenville on 30 Oct 1836 and the church records note on 30 Apr 1837 "gone to the West".
-John and Harriet went to Circleville, Pickway Co, OH in 1837 and stayed there for 17 years. They then moved to Montgomery Co, IL probably in 1857/8.Ivan indicates that they spent the rest of their days there, but your find indicates that she must have gone to AR after her husbands death.
John and Harriet's oldest son, James W. Nicodemus b. Sep 1828 in Franklin Co, PA and d. ca 1907 in Van Buren, AR appears to the the son of Harriet referred to in her obit as J. W. Nicodemus. So, it would also appear that she moved to Van Buren, AR to live with her son as the other children went to TX or OK
