Is there any chance that the Francisca (Franceska) Buhl noted below is one
of your ancestors? On some of the church birth documents of her children,
her maiden name was shown in various ways: Nitzka, Nitsche, Nitschke,
Nicha... they spelled it as it was pronounced.
I have been researching the Buhl family from the Delano, Minnesota area. Two
brothers: Joseph and Mathias Buhl, and their families, came to USA in 1874,
from German Poland (Oppeln/Schelsien region). They each brought their
families with them.
Joseph and Julianna Buhl settled in the Delano, MN area. Mathias and
Francisca Buhl settled in the Waverly, Minnesota, USA.
Joseph and Julianna Buhl family: Joseph, b. 3 MAR 1827, Oppeln, Germany;
Julianna, b. 1826, Oppeln, Germany; Julia, b. 1853 Ignatz, b. 1853; Andrew,
b. 1855 (married Franceska Metz); Mary, b. 1589 (married Christian Fautsch);
Francisca, b. 1861 (married Gottlieb Fautsch); Valentine, b. 1864 (married
Frances Reichel); Anna, b. 1867 (married Frank Schwirz); Catharine, b. 1868
(married Paul Weiderko)
Mathias and Francisca Buhl family: Mathias, b. 23 Feb 1836, Germany;
Francisca, b. 18 Feb 1841, Germany; Rosalie, b. 20 Oct 1864 (married Anthony
Kahonek); Mary, b. 1865 Elizabeth, b. 1867; John, b. 1873 (married Susie
Florek); Anna, b. 1876 (married Joseph A. Malok) Matilda, b. 1878; Julia, b.
1880 Eli Jennie
Mathias Buhl obituary b. 1835 d. Dec 17, 1891 Died Thursday after 3 year
illness. Left behind wife and 9 children: Mrs. Anthony Kohanek (Rose), Mrs.
Michael Barret, Mrs. Charles Richardson, John, Annie, Tillie (Matilda),
Julia, Eli and Jennie. Noted: He had 4 born at immigration and 5 born in
Minnesota. Mrs. Mathias obituary (Francisca): 23 March 1921 The following
children were left to mourn her death: Mrs. C. W. Richardson, Mrs. A.
Kahonek, Mrs. T. E Graves, and Eli Buehl, of Minneapolis; John, of Havre,
Mont; Mrs. J. A. Malok, of Casmir, Wash.; and Mrs. A. F. Kellor, of Seattle.
She died in Minneapolis, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Richardson.
I am researching the ancestors of all these people, and I have made no
direct link to any part of Germany/Austria/Poland/Silesia yet. I have seen
all these locations listed in various records.
Any information you can supply will be greatly appreciated !!
Regards,
George Buehl
