Marsha,
Just fell upon your posting- you probably already found this but here is what I have:
Wilhelm Niver (William) who married Mary Coddington enlisted as a private in Capt. James Rose Krans' Co. of foot soldiers, commanded by Col. Lewis DuBois. From May 1- June 23 1778 at Peekskill, Sept. 12 1778 in White Plains and Dec. 1779 - Jan 1780 he was in Camp Monstown. Don't have a foot note as to where I got this info- possibly from my second cousin (I found online) Nancy Long.I am sure it is traceable. Also Wilhelms father, Gotlieb Niver b. abt 1740 Germany who married Christina abt 1761 , enlisted for 4 years with the N.Y Provincial Troops (Capt. Bull's Militia) - this was from and email from George Cooke St. date Jan 19, 2001.
Wilhelm Niver would have been my great x 5 grandfather! Have fun !Diane in PA
