Re: Nobbs, Isle of Wight, UK
My family origins for Nobbs I believe are originally from Lowestoff? GB. They came to Canada as Stone Masons to build churches in Eastern Canada early 1700 I think? Prior to that I think they came from Germany and were in the Crusades? This is according to some obscure family legends. They were given land which I believe is still in the family name in Toronto but my Great Grandfathers wife died and he remarried sending the children from his first wife to Saltspring Island in BC Canada, to live with my GreatGrandfather.? There was a, allegedly, sister to three brothers she took up with Fletcher Christian and died after going overboard on the Bounty by way of a shark attack. But I cannot confirm that? This is as I have been told...As to the others on here looking I cannot trace back to Britian anything so far so I am not sure of who you are looking for or if there is a connection...yet.
