Re: Joseph NOLEN and Rebecca_________
I have been on the hunt for your William E Nolen before. The first place I looked was all the gedcoms I have. If I remember correctly, wasn't he believed to be born in 1853? You have found land grant info on him also. I thought of you not too long ago when I come across a lady in search of her Nolens. She beleived her relatives were in the Rusk Harrison counties (east Texas) She believed that other Nolen family members came from Alabama along with the Allen Nolen(1815)from whom I am decended. I remembered an 1850 Census Harrison county report I ran across of two Nolen families. Only initials are used to list every family member. I sent her a copy of it though, I can't remember if I have received a reply. If you would like a copy of it for possible future reference I would be happy to email it to you. I recently switched to web based mail and don't have your email address here. I can dig it up. Please correct my memory of his birthdate. If what I have here is right he wouldn't be in this 1850 report. I kinda think I might have sent it to you also. I keep trying to find out where these two families belong. I'll wait for your reply before sending it. Believe me I always have your William E Nolen on my mind when researching my Nolens. I do believe he fits in there somewhere also. I think I remember Arkansas was a possible state from which he migrated. There are some Nolen families in the southern part of the state I have run across, though I haven't seen William E yet. Good Luck and keep in touch, I will.
