I am having difficulty finding the death of my great great grandfather, John Norrie.
He emigrated from Scotland with his family - List of Government Emigrants who sailed on the ship "Nelson" from Glasgow for Otago on 30th September 1875: Norrie John, 46, county: Aberdeen, occupation: blacksmith; Norrie Mrs. Isabella, 43 Norrie, Maggie, 17, occupation: servant.
I found his wife and daughter in 1893 - 1893 Electoral Roll at Electorate: Waikouwaite number 2018 and 2019, residence: Goodwood is Isabella and Robina Margaret Norrie. I understand that this was a women only roll so John Norrie may well have been alive.
His wife, Isabel Norrie died in 1894 in Palmerston, Otago.
His daughter married in 1897 in Palmerston, New Zealand Marriage Certificate - Reg. No. 1897002293
Bride: Rubina Margaret NORRIE, age 37, spinster, b. Aberdeen Scotland. Usual residential address: Shagpoint.Mother: Isabella Norrie (nee Loggie). Father: John Bowman Norrie, Blacksmith.
Bridegroom: John William Thomas, 35, Miner, bachelor, b. Nawport (sic) England. Usual residential address: Shagpoint.Mother: Elizabeth Thomas (nee Watkins). Father George Thomas, Cuiller Owner.
Can anyone help me find John Norrie's death and let him rest in peace?I've been trying to find this information for many years.
