Norvell, George c1740-c1800 NY

George Norvell married Jane Southerland 1786 in New Windsor, Ulster Co.,NY. In 1790 they were in Cornwall,Orange Co, NY. In 1800 only Jane is listed in the census. Their children were William, Mary m. Peter Fisher, Rachel m. Samuel Jones,and Sarah m. ? Sargent. Any information on New York State Norvells in this time period will be helpful. I think it is possible George was a Revolutionary soldier with Washington's army stationed at New Windsor and may not have been native to the area.
