Mike, I found in my travels, (maybe you have too) and I copied the following: 'MINUTES OF THEE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL', AT THE COURTHOUSE OF PHILADIA, SEPTEMBER 16TH, 1736. THE HONBLE JAMES LOGAN, ESQR., PRESIDENT, ESQRS. THOMAS LAURENCE, THOMAS GRIFFITS, RALPH ASSHETON,. WILLIAM ALLEN, ESQR., MAYOR THE CITY OF PHILADIA. NAMELY "ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE FOREIGNERS FROM THE PALATINATE, AND OTHER PLACES, WHO, WITH THEIR FAMILIES, MAKING IN ALL THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY PERSONS, WERE IMPORTED HERE IN THE SHIP 'PRINCESS AUGUSTA, SAMUEL MERCHANT, MASTER, FROM ROTERDAM, BUT LAST FROM COWES, AS BY CLEARANCE THENCE, WERE THIS DAY QUALIFIED AS USUAL, WHOSE NAMES ARE AS FOLLOWS:IN PART OF LIST ENOAS NOWELL, JOSEPH NOEL, AND PETER NOEL. Could this be our Peter Nowels and possible other family????? The date would fit with your three-lifetime-lease of 1742. Please contact me at AJNOWELS@AOL.COM, as I don't get back to different message boards often.I am from the family of James B Nowels.
