Re: nunlist family geneology
I knew that your information sounded familiar.Several years ago (1988, I find) I had a letter from a "Father Ronald" Nunlist in Galveston, TX who had done a lot of research on the Nunlist family, and his line was from the same John Nunlist, b.1783 Niedererlinsbach, m. Eliz. Sinninger. He had been to the Canton of Solothurn and looked at the church records of St. Nicholas Parish, and sent me much of the same information you are mentioning. However, we were never able to connect the two families before his death in 1995.(I had lost Fr.Ronald, and through a sister and brother in Cincinnati I confirmed his death in 1998).Fr. Ronald was born in 1912 in St. Bernard, OH to Raymond and Emilia Sprehe Nunlist.
My husband and I went to the LDS library in Santa Barbara, CA, where we were living at that time and read several microfilm records from St. Nicholas Parish... they were in Latin!!! and old German script so it was a tedious task, and we found MANY Nunlists.I was especially pleased to find a birth record for our Viktor and as near as we could read the record he was born to Joanes (sp?) and Ana Kybury (sp?) Nunlist in 1820 in Untererlinsbach, Canton Solothurn. The number of the LDS Film is #1600147, item 2 of the Staat Arkives of Kanton Solothurn.I would be happy to share my information on Viktor if you are interested. You can also find it on Rootsweb World Connect by using my "preinheim" in the search box.
I'd like to keep in touch with you... your e-mail address is hidden so unless you want to e-mail me directly, I guess this forum is the best way.
