Hey, Pam! It looks like we probably are related; much of what you said is familiar. The info I have shows that my great-great-great-grandfather was Fred and that he came to America in the late 1800s from what used to be called Hessen Dormstoff, but which I guess is no longer on maps of Germany. I have a question mark for the wife, so that must be Eva. It also shows that one of his children (maybe the only child?) was John William Oberle, who married Mary Louise Eitenmiller. (I think the Eitenmillers were also German?) Then they had 5 kids: William (my great-grandfather, who seems to have had 8 kids), Frederick, Henry, Arthur, and Anna Louise. I have a bunch of other names, too, (including some Hittles, which I believe were Dutch) but probably none of them will be familiar to you at this point. Plus, I have more information (births, deaths, occupations, etc) on some of these people, if you're interested.
Anyway, I'm not sure how we're connected, but there's definitely something. I'm going to have to get some more information from my great-aunt Marg in Pekin, and I'll let you know if she has anything else that can help.
