I am looking for a Patrick O'Dea (O'Day) that married Mary Corcoran. They both were born in Ireland.Mary Corcoran, I have born in County Cork, Ireland around 1820.She was the daughter of John Corcoran (DeKorkery).
After they were married in Ireland thy moved to Australia and worked for a rich Irish rancher.
The next news that I have of them is a Patrick O'Dea that was born in Australia and then came to America and played Wisconsin college football in 1895-1898.He was supposed to have been an all Australian halfback at the age of 16.I am assuming that this is a grandson of Patrick and Mary (Corcoran) O'Dea.
Then I have a February 15, 1900 newspaper obituary notice for Patrick O'Dea giving very little information other than he was 80 years old and that he died in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and that he was on furough from the Milwaukee Solider's Home.Nothing else is given.
I found Patrick O'Dea in the Wisconsin Civil War roster in the 14th Infantry, Company D.
Any information that you have would be greatly appreciated.
