To all &c. Whereas &c. Now Know yee that I the said William Berkeley Knight Governor &c. give and grant unto Wm. Pearce Eighteen hundred and teen acres of Land in the County of Westmoreland bounded vizt
... acres parte thereof on the Eastermost side of Nomany river
opposite to the Land of Mr. Lewis Parrell
beginning at a swamp deviding this Land and the land of Gabriell Odier
and Extending even? or nigh Nomeny river next? upon a branch of the said River upon the south side of Vasuhacon? path,
South 1/2? poynt westerly into the woods,
East 1/2? poynt Southerly upon the land of the said Odier,
North halfe a poynt Easterly along the Land of the said Odier
to the place began at,
and 600 acres another parte thereof beginning at a marked white oake where the? former land ends upon a branch of Nomeny river oposite to Mr. Rosiers land
and running West 1/2 poynt North for breadth 300 pole
South 1/2 poynt
West into the woods being a Square figure,
and 300 acres the Residue beginning at a Corner tree betwixt the Land of Gabriell Odier and this land,
and running South 1/2 poynt west for breadth,
and west 1/2 poynt North along the head of the said Land for length 320 pole
The said land being formerly granted by pattent to Jno. Wood
bearing date the ...th? October 1653 and by the said Wood sould and assigned to the said Wm. Pearce, and renued by the said Pearce in his Majesties Name the 31st of December 1662 610 acres the residue bounding Vizt beginning at a marked Spannish oake standing in the line of the above said tract of land of the said Wm. Pearce extending North West ...? pole to a croked? red oake standing on the side of a Hill which devides this land and the land of Katharine B...? from thence South West and by South 180? pole South 1/2? poynt Westerly ...? pole, South East 1/2? poynt Easterly 170? pole to a marked Pochikery standing on the North west side of a branch nere the horse path which line devides this line & a tract of Land claimed by Mr. Jno. Lord & Wm. Horton from thence east 1/2? poynt South to the line of the abovesaid .... acres finally along the said line to the first marked oake The said ... acres of Land being due unto the said Peirce? by and for the transportacon of thirteen persons &c. To have & to hold &c. To bee held &c. Yeilding & Paying &c. Provided &c. Dated the 22d March 1665/6.
