Thomas ODINGSELLS, immigration, Salem MA, son of John, brother of John.
I had found this passenger listing for a Thomas ODINGSELLS, but had never seen any further mention of him until yesterday. It isn't much, except for naming his father and brother. First the immigration record:
Name: Thomas Odingsells
Place: Salem, Massachusetts
Source Publication Code: 275
Primary Immigrant: Odingsells, Thomas
Annotation: Comprehensive listing of early immigrants, in various arrangements to assist the researcher. Pages 1-189 contain passenger lists; pages 193-295 are indexes.
Source Bibliography: BANKS, CHARLES EDWARD. Topographical Dictionary of 2885 English Emigrants to New England, 1620-1650. Edited, indexed and published by Elijah Ellsworth Brownell. Philadelphia: Bertram Press, 1937. 295p. Reprinted by Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, 1957. Repr. 1987.
"English Origins of New England Families, Vol III, New England Gleanings" page 639:
"55. Thomas Odingsell of Salem draws a bill on his father, John O[dingsell] of Epperston, [county Nottinghamshire], or brother John O[dingsell] at Mr. Mansfield's on Ludgate Hill."
There was no date to the entry and I do not have one for the book itself.I had originally thought brother John must be in England still, but research MAY show Ludgate hill to be in Massachussetts, as I noticed a lot of Mansfield's in the Salem records when I was hunting on more for Thomas.
