Re: Lena Kraft
My name is Walter F Easterly and I am a descendant of Conrad Oesterlin, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1743, along with his brother, Hans Georg Oesterle. They were preceded by another older brother, Jacob Osterlin, in the same port in 1738.
Their arrivals and subsequent movements within the colonies, including their families and descendants, are well documented by various writers over the next 264 years.
What I don't have is an account of their origins in Europe. I am aware that they originated somewhere to the east of what is now Austria, Hungary, Czechosalavikia, Poland region. They migrated westward toward what is now
the Rhine valley of Germany, northern France, Belgium, across the chanel into England and northward into Scotland and Ireland.
What I am searching for at this point is a connection to the families that lived in the Germany, France and Belgium areas.
I am planning a research trip to those areas next spring, in 2003. I plan to stay several months.
Your data that goes back to 1640 could be very helpful to my research.
Could you please provide a copy of that data to me?
I have spent 59 years collecting the data about the Esterly family in this country. My files now contain 10085 names, the majority of which are directly related to Conrad Easterly or one of his two brothers. There are some fragment files, also, that have not been connected to the main branch of the family.
I would be happy to exchange files with you, on the chance that you can use the data.
I know our roots are there in the southern Germany region, or somewhere in the close proximity. It is now just a matter of finding the connection.
