Re: Benjamin Franklin Ogden
A little late in replying, but better late than never I suppose.Hope you're still out there digging on this family.I have some info suggesting I've found your man!I'm aware of a Benjamin Ogden in the Prince Georges Co. MD area in 1790 (according to the census).I have the info from his will.He had 2 sons, Henry and Benjamin who are not listed in that census, so presumably had left home by then.Henry was b. 18 Jul 1781 in Charles Co. MD and d. Jul 1824 near Lexington, KY.He m. Lucinda Catherine Metcalf 25 Feb 1806 in Kento Township, KY.They had 9 children, one of which was Benjamin F. Ogden b. 08 Jan 1815 (so this one is too young to be the one you seek). However, for Henry's brother Benjamin, I show him b. 23 Jul 1786 and d. 23 Jan 1869 and m. Elizabeth (Betsy) Tucker who was b. 1806; they had 5 children b. in the 1840's-50's, one of which was Benjamin Franklin Ogden, b. 08 Sep 1841. (difference in ages of the parents here leads me to suspect she may not have been his 1st wife).I show this latter BFO d. 14 May (no year) and m. Alice Belle Washburn on 27 Nov 1859.She was b. 30 Nov 1848 and d. 05 May 1920.I have no other info (in my electronic database anyway) on this BFO and Alice Washburn, but do have more on some others back up the line.Contact me and we can swap more notes.
