Hi Myra. Here's how we've figured out the marriages you mentioned:
John Ogletree to Julia E. Perkins 9-28-1819 - a previously unknown son of your Littleton Ogletree. This is the John who d. in Greene Co. ca. 1824.His estate records clearly show that his widow was named Julia E.
John Ogletree to Nancy Rice 8-20-1820.As Pat mentioned, this was John G. Ogletree, son of Absalom Ogletree. There are some records in Wilkes Co. that prove this.
John Ogletree to Lydia Osborn 3-4-1797.KC's book shows that this is John, son of Thomas Ogletree, SR.I believe this is correct.Pleasant Ogletree, another son of Thomas, SR., signed the marriage bond and KC also shows that this John was living in Putman County in 1820 and Thomas, Sr. and Thomas, Jr. were also in Putman County.Families tended to move together in those days.I think these things are pretty good evidence that John who m. Lydia Osborn was son of Thomas, SR.
