Thank you for the response.I would love to have a copy of the Little Red Book. How many pages is it?We can talk about that.
My line is Joseph William Ogletree, Sr. (my father) & Helen Grace Healy/ James Pleasant Ogletree & Mary Louetta Johnson/Pleasant Turner Ogletree & Martha M. Scott/John Ogletree & Polly Chessin/David ogletree & Rebecca Turner/John Ogletree & Frances ?.
My research started with what I remembered from childhood stories and a handwritten letter that my dad's older sister wrote to him giving him info on cousins, etc.Luckily my dad's side of the family were big believers in photos, so I have 8x10 pictures of all the aunts and uncles and grandparents.I have a great picture of the oldest uncle, James P. Ogletree, Jr. with his horse. he was in WWII in the cavalry. After searching for him for many years, I finally found him in Vermont at Ft. Ethan Allen. When I looked up the Fort website (it is no longer an active base), there were the stables, just like the background in my picture.
I started around 2000 when I retired. As I said, I need to do some work on the Healy side, but that's going to be very tough since both of my grandparents came from Ireland, met and married in Brooklyn.Oh well, another challenge.
