Mary Jean,
Thank you for your recent message.
I just wanted to mention something to you that I ran across while checking Wilkes County records today.
It is the will of George Thompson..mentions wife Ann then list legacy's to his children. He then states, and I quote "
Brother-in-law John Ogletree and friend Nathan Formby, Exers" Was signed 1-16-1806 and was probated 3-02-1807
I believe John Sr, died around 1820 or 1822
John Jr, would have been around 25 or 26 years old at this time, so it might have been either one of them, but if it was john,jr, you would think it would read john,jr.
Do you have any thoughts on this It doesn't give a last name for his wife, so they could have married sisters or it could mean than John was Ann's brother
Let me know what you make of this bit of information.
By the way I think I told you before I am descended through John's son Littleton, his daughter Julia and his grand daughter frances.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Myra Maxwell
