Hello Margaret,
My first contact with a Moorhouse descendent!According to my software, we are third cousins once removed.
I don't have much information on the Ogley family.Recently I found out from another cousin (Keith Alderson) that Frances' brother might have also come over to Canada (Port Hope) in the 1840's or thereabouts, and I've yet to follow up on that.I believe that Frances' father went by John Hogley.
I have Mounteer information going back to Anthony Mounteer, Liverpool. His son, John (b. 1755), married Sarah Johnson, and their son John married Mary Day.
Two years ago I was in Petrolia for a few weeks and went to the graveyard in Shetland, and also the archives in Wyoming where I was fortunate to look through a copy of your father's book.I found a couple of pictures of Hannah.
I would be happy to send you the information that I have on the Mounteer family, and if I can get more information on the Ogley family, I will send that.
You can reply to me directly, if you like, at [email protected].
Thanks for your posting, and I look forward to hearing from you.
