Re: Looking for relatives of David Ohana
What a nice surprise to hear something about my search for relatives of David Ohana two years after my last posting.
I am intrigued by your relation to and knowledge of Jacques Ohana and that you actually visited him in London and know of his gallery.Let me tell you what else I remember about Jacques, my father's look-alike that met each other in Casablanca sometime in the late 1920's or early 1930's.This was before I was born.
Let me tell you what else I remember.Jacques' wife was an American (name not recalled) from Brooklyn. She was very much my mother's "type" -- in stature and coloring.Jacques had a son while my father had my brother and sister. The weird part of the story is that, in addition to the other similarities, Jacques' son had the same name as my brother (David Lawrence) and was born on the same day of the same year (July 26, 1924).Does any of this track with what you know of Jacques' family?
The two families kept in touch for some years, and when Jacques and wife visited the States (I think this was pre-WW II), they visited with my family.I only vaguely remember meeting them -- could not describe them at all.
Can't wait to hear what you remember or can confirm.
