A biography of Judge Daniel L. O'Hern, Miles City, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 1091 & 1092Parents: John and Mary (Shehan) O'Hern, natives of County Tipperary and County Galway, respectively.They were married in Iowa and died on their farm near Fort Dodge, IA. Of their children, only Daniel moved to Montana and the others remained in that section of Iowa.
Daniel spent his early life on the farm, attended common schools, and Tobin College at Fort Dodge.In 1908, he graduated from Iowa State University where he took both literary and law courses. Soon after graduating, Daniel located to Missoula, MT, where he practiced law.In 1910, he was elected to the Lower House of the Montana Legislature. He served as assistant county attorney and in 1913 moved to Glendive, MT, as assistant county attorney there for two years. On 12 Mar 1915, Daniel was appointed judge and moved to Miles City, MT.
Judge Daniel O'Hern was unmarried at the time this biography was written.
