Today is December 21st. On this date in 1943, Australian Aircrew Sergeant
D. J. Aherne of Sydney, New South Wales, had his picture taken picking up
Christmas mail from home at the base post office R.A.A.F. Headquarters in

- U. S. Navy pilot Lt. J. F. Ahearn, from Framingham, Massachusetts, and
his ten man crew rescued by submarine after ditching their bomber in the
Pacific 170 miles Southwest of Honolulu, 11 May 1957

- On Christmas Day John M. Ahern, of Clonavrick near Macroom, County Cork,
reported that he had been shot at by his cousin, Eugene Ahern in a
dispute arising from possession of a farm by Andrew Ahern, 31 December 1892
- 90 acres granted to James Ahern, at Bathurst Plains, New South Wales,
20 September 1839; having been convicted for cattle stealing, a hearing
was held to determine if these lands should be forfeit to the Crown,
thus dispossessing his wife and four infant daughters, 11 September 1840;
