My grandmother was Elizabeth O'Hearn. Her parents, Maurice O'Hearn and Anna Larkin, came to the US via NY and soon thereafter settled in Shieldsville, MN, where my grandmother was born. They later ended up in SW Minnesota, in Ellsworth and Lismore with siblings and descendents in Iowa and SD. Follwoing the death of her husband Anna owned farmland in Pipestone.
I have an article from the Ellsworth Centennial book describing the exploits of Richard Butler - Klondike Dick - and at the end of the article are listed the Ellsworth boys who had gone to Alaska and returned with gold. One of those listed is Jack O'Hearn who returned from Alaska to buy 320 acres in Larkin township, SW MN.
If any of this is of interest, please let me know.
