There is some confusion as to which Petznick the Ohm's were from. I have historical references to both. I believe that the one in Prussia is more likely the correct one and have the films from there right now. I have looked at them and will be spending more time this week going over them in greater detail.
Most of my other families from Northern Germany were from the Dölitz area not far from Petznick,Prussia.
I have historical references to my Ott line as being from Brandenburg, but have not confirmed that yet. (There are some Ott's in the Petznick films) One of the problems I have encountered in historical records is that sometimes when asked the German settlers would give the name of a major city as their place of origin instead of the actual place. My Beckmann's were said to be from Stettin and Berlin in historical accounts, but local church records and the church records from Dölitz clearly show that they were from Dölitz.
Tracking down my families from the Palatines are even more problematic partly because they came here much earlier and migrated around the country before coming here and partly because of name changes over time.
