I posted on your friends message, but he may not have received this info.In Hartland, Niagara County, NY there is a Benjamin Franklin Brown WHO MAY BE BROTHER OF HANNAH (BROWN) OLDS, his parents are Joseph Brown and Ann SMITH...I say this because often women named "Sarah" went by "Ann" or "Sally" as well...one child knowing their mother's name different from the other sibling is frequent. My great grandmother Alice Eliza (Hull) Tainter changed her name to either Alice or Eliza almost every census...Sarah Ann (Decker) VanKirk went by "Sally"...so different families may know the mother to use one name in favor of the other when giving information for death records...IT IS POSSIBLE THAT JOSEPH BROWN'S WIFE AND MOTHER TO HANNAH MAY BE "SARAH ANN SMITH"...
HERE IS INFORMATION FROM MICHIGAN:
No luck on maiden name for mother, but confirms Joseph and Sarah as parents a great source, here is death record for Hannah. Marilyn
