Correspondence with William Thomas Old and William Levi Old.In addition this information is in the book, "Olds (Old, Ould) in England & America" by Edson B. Olds, Washington D.C. 1915.I do not know how accurate that book is and am sure that it probably was the basis for both Messr. Old's information.
Given the time line, it is logical that the North Carolina branch came from the Norfolk area. Many Norfolk area planters expanded their planations in to northeast NC.I do know that there is another Arthur Old who is connected to Olds in Lauderdale County, TN.I have not found his connection to the Old family, although I am sure that there is one.
Kedar Buck Old's family is found in both VA and NC.ALso there is this entry:
The will of Kedar Old Sr. was written Dec. 18, 1817 but not probated until May 201833.His sons are Arthur, Hollowell, James and Kedar. His daughters were Lydia Waren, Euphaney Barlee, Suervey White and Mary Peyer (sic).Norfolk County Will Book Vol. 5, p. 319.
I would appreciate any information that you have on Arthur.I'll be glad to send you what I have on the Norfolk family.
