I am looking for information on Andrew Olson born 1856 in Norway married to Mary (Maria) Halvorson around 1880. I can locate him on the federal census from 1885-1920. 1930 census has Mary widowed, although I don't know Andrews death year. The census' are constant with a 1868 arrival putting him at the age 12. That means he should have arrive with parents, but I don't know who they are. I know he lived and settled in Cedar, Marshall, Minnesota since about 1890 since he owned land and his location and occupation as a farmer never changes. His son, Henry, is head of the house in 1930 with mother Mary(Maria)living with him as well as the rest of the younger siblings and Eliza.
It may be possible that Andrew Olson wasn't his birth name. I have another great grandfather born Anders Neilson but was changed to Andrew Nelson upon arrival. I have found one possible census that might be Anders Olsen, but without his parents information I can not be sure. No arrival date was given.
Andrew fathered eleven children: Eliza, Oscar, Lennie, Melvin (Albert), Olga, Laura, Henry, Paul, Nobel, George, and Edgar all born in Minnesota. Paul and Laura died before 1900 but no dates found.
I hope someone might also be looking for this family and might know Andrews death year, parents names and port of arrival, or be of other descendants of this man. Thank you.
