A little more on Leonard Sale. 1782 Wilkes County Tax List, Capt. Aleander Gordons Dist. During the years 1780-1811 he acquired much land in the Duggar's Creek area around Adam's Spring Branch. There are many land transactions as well as other sales etc in the books for him. Leonard Sales will is recorded in Wilkes Co.,NCBook 4, pg. 52 probated Aug. term, 1824. Named in will: Oldest dau. Nancy (deceased), and her descendants viz: Cornelius Sale, Elizabeth Wells, as oldest daughter and Sarah Felts. Others named included his daughters, Sarah Walker (deceased), Mary Olvey, Lucy Olvey/Alvey, Elizabeth Martin, Patsy Nicholson, Rebeccah Bagby and Susannah Nicholson; sons, William, John and Enos Sale. Exet by John Walker and Harris Standley. No wife mentioned in the will.
