Just found more ORTNER info in my grandmother's Funeral Memory Book. Two women signed and (such a good idea!) put a bracket connecting their names and wrote, "Ortners." These were Mrs. Elmer G. LANDEL and Mrs. Lillian LOESCHER; the date was July 31, 1960, and the place was Buffalo, NY. If you read my earlier posts you will see that there were four sisters, children of Caroline and Christ. F. Ortner: Irene C. m. Meyers (perhaps called "Carl") FREEMAN; Hilda m. Lorin T. ULM, moved to Zanesville, OH; Lillian m. George LOESCHER; and perhaps Mrs. LANDEL is Esther, although I have no proof of that as yet, and it is just as possible that Mrs. Landel was Lillian's daughter, or someone entirely else, but still connected to the Ortner family. Also in the realm of total speculation, notice how Loescher and Lozier are homophones, that is, sound exactly the same when pronounced, although spelled differently. Isn't there someone on this list who has a Lozier connected to Ortner?
