John J. (Jack) ORMAN, 80, of 242 S. Schuyler, died Friday at 9:55 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital. He had been in failing health for two years.
Mr. ORMAN was a telegrapher for the railroad prior to entering the grocery business. He had lived in and around Ottumwa all his life. He retired in 1961.
The son of David and Anna ORMAN, he was born August 11, 1885, at Ormanville. His marriage to Lola Erickson took place in Fairfield on November 26, 1919. She survives. He was a member of Willard Street Methodist Church.
He also leaves to sons, Frank ORMAN of Ottumwa and Kenneth ORMAN of DeKalb,Illinois; two daughters, Mrs. James W. Hall and Mrs. Robert Baker, both of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Allman of Ottumwa and Mrs. Madeline Hoffman of Omaha; and five grandchildren.
Three brothers, Pete, Jim and George ORMAN preceded him in death.
The service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. David Ash of Willard Street Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
