OTTUMWA — Dianne K. Underwood, 62, of 309 S. Ransom died at 8:20 p.m. July 21, 2007, at Hospice House.


She was born May 18, 1945 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Robert Dean and Dorothy Marie Orman Carter. She married Ronald L. Shedenhelm, Sr. June 21, 1962. They divorced. She married Dennis Underwood September 23, 1988.

She was a registered nurse, having graduated from Indian Hills Community College.

Surviving is her husband; a son, Ronald L. Shedenhelm, Jr. of Ottumwa; three daughters, Dawna Wilson of Ottumwa, Beverly Shedenhelm of Lovilia and Sonya Chapin of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Debbie (Rick) Johnson of Ottumwa and Betty Clawson of Port Orange, Fla.; two brothers, Bob Carter of Bloomfield and Dennis Carter of Centerville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Dick Carter.

Her body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Chapel, Ottumwa Regional Health Center Alta Vista site with Rev. Sue Babovec officiating.

Memorials have been established to the Mars Hills Restoration or Hospice, 312 E. Alta Vista, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
