Candace, after I made that post, I further researched Daniel. My main concern is that many of Matthew II's descendants married into the families who were also married into the Peter Osborn family from Chester County, PA. The records of Matthew II being the son of Matthew and Mary are very scant.
I am not sure that church records are considered primary sources of information. Bible records are consideredprimary info only if the informer is at least generation older than the people listed. For example, a person's record of a parents birth or marriage is not acceptable. They were not a witness to the event. A death of a parent can be accepted. If you have a lot of other circumstantial evidence, as a whole, it can be accepted. But, not on the bible record, alone.
What I am saying may appear to be redundant, but I really would like to know the proof of MatthewII being the son of
Matthew I. I think I have legitimate questions. Pauline Osbun is going to send me some things, maybe she can help.
I don't have Verne's book. I like to do my own research.
Thank you for your help.
