I am a member of the family Osiier and live in Denmark from where the majority of the Osiier emigrated to US in the late 1800 and early 1900. My great great grandfather Nachman Meier Osiier came to Copenhagen in 1850, but it is uncertain where he came from, and the Osiiers in US have very little knowledge about the family's origin. Now I wonder if the Osier (one 'i') family is somehow related to the Osiiers. This may not be so as 'osier' is French for willow, whereas 'Osiier' - the family being Jewish - seems to be Jiddisch. Any clues on where the Osier immigrated to US from would be greatly appreciated.
